Mission Statement
Founded in 1994 by former NBA star and Tulsa native John Starks, The John Starks Foundation is a 501©3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing financial assistance to high school seniors in the form of academic scholarships. In addition, the Foundation provides community programs focused on furthering the educational, recreational and career development of children and their families.

Scholarships
Each year, the John Starks Foundation awards academic scholarships to students from various Tulsa and New York/Tri-State area high schools. Scholarship recipients are selected based upon financial need, exemplary academic achievement, and a commitment to community service. If you or someone you know is interested in applying for one (1) of the ten (10) grants available for the upcoming academic year, please download an application. If you or your company is interested in partnering with the Foundation to award a specific scholarship or grant, please contact the Foundation as well.

Foundation Funding
The Foundation relies on individual and corporate donations, as well as special events, to fund the community and scholarship programs currently offered.

Special Events
Since 1995, John Starks has hosted youth basketball clinics and camps, as well as golf outings and sports auctions to raise money for the Foundation. If you or your company is interested in attending or hosting an event to benefit the Foundation, please contact Jennifer Alpert @ (203) 322-7788.
